Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) ended Monday’s trading session losing 0.43% or 25.35 points, closing at the level of 5873.8 points.
The main index was dragged down by most of the stocks, with Al Jazeira Services leading the decliners with 4.41%, followed by Al Sharqiya Investment and Port Services which dropped 3.57% and 3.45% respectively.
Only two stocks ended today’s session in the green zone, as Galfar Engineering and Contracting gained 1.94%, and Al Batinah Power added 0.51%.
The financial sector decreased the most with 0.84%, as Al Sharqiya Investment, Bank Nizwa, and Bank Sohar fell 3.57%, 2.06%, and 1.78% respectively.
Sohar bank registered the biggest traded volume and the highest traded value with 2.14 million shares traded a total turnover of OMR 356,530.
The industrial sector lost 0.17%, while the services sector slipped 0.07%.
Total traded volume decreased to 10.74 million shares from 11.1 million on Sunday, while total turnover increased to OMR 2.57 million from around OMR 285,450 in the last session.
